Headquarters Multinational Corps South-East (HQ MNC-SE), together with the US Army Multi-Domain Command Europe (MDC-E), alongside NATO allies and partners, took part in the multinational exercise DYNAMIC FRONT 26 (DF26), the largest U.S. Army multi-domain artillery precision fires and interoperability exercise conducted in Europe, held from 26 January to 13 February 2026.
The exercise focused on the practical application of the Eastern Flank Deterrence Line (EFDL) and aimed to rehearse the NATO regional plan, as well as to integrate effects across the land, air, maritime, cyber, and space domains, in order to train counter anti-access/area denial (A2/AD) capabilities supported by concentrated conventional forces.
DF26 placed increased emphasis on command and control, simulation-supported live fires, and multi-domain integration, reflecting the realities of modern conflicts in which forces must operate at distance, across national borders, and in multiple domains, while maintaining speed and precision in the decision-making process. Live-fire activities were conducted in several Allied countries, with Romania playing an important role by hosting training sequences at the Cincu Training Area, directly contributing to strengthening Allied interoperability and to enhancing NATO’s deterrence and defense posture on the Eastern Flank.

DF26 highlights the role of the US Army MDC-E in integrating effects at the theatre level and in developing large-scale multi-domain operations, and marks the final edition of the exercise in its current format as starting next year, it will merge with the exercise Arcane Thunder under the name Arcane Front. Through this exercise, the United States, Romania, and NATO allies reaffirm their strong commitment to collective defense and regional security.
