High-ranking officials visit HQ MNC-SE

The Romanian Minister of National Defence, Liviu-Ionuț Moșteanu, the Romanian Minister of Foreign Affairs, Oana Țoiu, the Romanian Minister of Economy, Digitalization, Entrepreneurship and Tourism, Radu Miruta, the Romanian Chief of Defence, general Gheorghita Vlad, the Commander of NATO Allied Land Command, General Christopher Donahue, National Permanent Representatives at NATO HQ, Military Committee representatives, and senior military leaders visited the Headquarters Multinational Corps South-East (HQ MNC-SE) premises in Sibiu on 12 November.

The official party was briefed on MNC-SE’s mission within NATO’s deterrence and defence framework. The discussions also focused on advancing interoperability, ensuring that Allied forces are able to train, operate, and communicate effectively as a unified force, enhancing cohesion and reinforcing NATO’s forward presence and readiness along the Eastern Flank.

The next day, the officials participated in the Distinguished Visitors Day of the Dacian Fall 2025 (DAFA25) exercise – the most significant NATO training event conducted in Romania in 2025 – organised by HQ MND-SE and hosted by the “Getica” Joint National Training Centre in Cincu.

DAFA 25 was planned and conducted by Headquarters Multinational Division South-East (HQ MND-SE) between 20 October and 13 November 2025. It comprised over 5,000 troops with 1,200 vehicles from ten Allied nations – Belgium, Bulgaria, France, Italy, Luxembourg, North Macedonia, Poland, Portugal, Romania, and Spain.

The main objective of the exercise was the operational integration of the subordinate and affiliated structures of HQ MND-SE and marked the final stage of the temporary scaling up to brigade level of the NATO Battle Group in Romania, with France as Framework Nation.
