The Romanian Chief of Defence Staff, General Daniel Petrescu, participated on Tuesday, 10th of October, in the opening ceremony of NATO STEADFAST JUPITER 2023 (STJU23) Exercise, organized by the Headquarters Multinational Corps South-East (HQ MNC-SE) at the Joint National Training Center “GETICA” in Cincu, Brasov County.
In his opening remarks, the Chief of Defence Staff, highlighed the importance of this exercise as one of the most essential tools through which the Alliance tests and validates its concepts, procedures, systems and tactics, and expressed his confidence that the objectives set for this exercise would be achieved: “Today, we are witnessing a significant moment in Romanian Armed Forces’ development. In 2020, this HQ structure at army corps level started with a handful of soldiers very determined, with vision and competence. Today, we have a solid HQ, with Romanian and allied personnel, which will test their abilities and cohesion during the most complex NATO Computer-Assisted Exercise”.
“HQ MNC-SE ensures interoperability and operational integration of the assigned Allied forces, in support of strengthening the security architecture on the NATO Eastern Flank. As we embark on this exercise, let us remember the weight of our responsibility to protect the millions of citizens who look to NATO for safety and security. Let us embrace a veritable esprit de corps in cooperation, camaraderie, and innovation that has defined this alliance”, underlined Major General Dragoș-Dumitru Iacob, the Commander of Multinational Corps South-East.
The Headquarters Multinational Corps South-East (HQ MNC-SE) participates in STJU23 CAX/CPX with over 400 military personnel as part of the NATO force structure to test command and control capability in a complex scenario involving all operational domains at the joint level.
The exercise represents the final certification stage (Full Operational Capability – FOC) of HQ MNC-SE, as a combat structure of army corps level, able to ensure the command and control of NATO land operations at the regional level, in any situation, during crisis or conflict.
