Headquarters Multinational Corps South-East organized, on 23rd of October, the ceremony dedicated to the achievement of Full Operational Capability, a significant milestone in our existence as a warfighting corps in the NATO Force Structure.
At this activity participated Romanian Chief of General Staff, General Daniel PETRESCU, Deputy Commander of the Allied Land Command, Lieutenant General Nicola ZANELLI, Romanian and multinational military personnel from other Romanian and NATO Commands, as well as local authorities.
As a result of achieving this milestone, NATO now has a new Corps level structure able to ensure command and control for land operations in its South-Eastern flank, in any situation.
During his speech, Romanian Chief of General Staff, General Daniel PETRESCU, stated: “I congratulate the HQ Multinational Corps South-East’ personnel, both military and civilians, for reaching the Full Operational Capacity and inaugurating the new building. I want to emphasize that the development of this allied structure doesn’t stop here.”
In his turn, HQ Multinational Corps South-East commander, Major General Dragos-Dumitru IACOB, declared: “Looking forward into the future, we have to continue our training programs in order to consolidate what we have achieved so far and to better exercise and execute the command and control of the Allied forces deployed to strengthen the defence and deterrence posture in Romania and Bulgaria”.
